OK, you're a little bit skeptical of why we are doing this campaign--we don't blame you. Do they want to get money from me somehow? Are they looking to proselytize me for crying out loud? Are they selling something? Will they sell my contact info to Nigerian SPAMers? The answer to each of these questions is NO.

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH YOUR QUESTION?

We are receiving hundreds of really good questions, and we want to hear yours. In order to better serve and love our neighbors we want to know your questions of God. We will also try to answer your questions. Obviously we cannot answer each individual question directly (we tried to hire a hundred monks but they are all busy during the holidays). So what will we do? Well most of the questions, though worded differently, will be similar in some ways. We anticipate that 85 - 90 percent of the questions will basically distil down into 10 to 12 different questions. For example, questions about the supposed goodness of God, or questions regarding the difficulty of believing in something you cannot see. We will read each question and match them up with others like them. We will then answer the questions in a variety of formats. Hopefully one or more will appeal to you. One, we will throw a party. Well, sort of. We are organizing 3 discussion forums where the top questions will be examined and discussed. We are still working on the locations, but they will be at an inviting location with music, food and drinks. If you can't make it, we will make the audio available online. And two, we will address one question each week at our church meetings beginning at the end of January. You can either come and participate or download the message from our website.

WHAT KIND OF ANSWERS WILL YOU RECEIVE?

It is our hope that upon interacting with the answers that the following descriptive words will NOT come to mind: typical, dogmatic, predictable, unreflective, cold, off-point, pedantic, condemning, or self-righteous. Rather, we hope that after you investigate our responses that, whether you agree with them or not, you will be able to use the following words to describe our response: respectful, intelligent, challenging, thought provoking, weighty, reflective, unpredictable and meaningful.

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH YOUR CONTACT INFO?

Since you can only submit one question per valid email address, we do need your email address; and in order to send you your eco shopping bag we will need your local mailing address. We will not share your information with any organization other than the charity that you selected. All the charities have agreed to safeguard your information and to obey international SPAM legislation. As for us, we will send you an email after you submit your question in order to thank you. Without a valid email account your question won't be considered. We promise not to flood your inbox with email, and you can opt out from future emails safely at any time.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO SHARE MY MAILING ADDRESS?

You must have a south fork residence in order for you and the charity to receive your gifts. If you don't have a south fork mailing address you may still submit your question via email and we will keep in touch with you regarding the forthcoming answers. See our contact page for our email address.
